If you haven't already done so please sign and return 1st quarter progress reports  that came home in Wed folders last week.

This week we are completing our math unit on place value with problem solving. Students have been practicing strategies to solve word problems. Please be sure your child continues to study their multiplication facts as our next unit will focus on multiplication and division.

Our mini lessons this week are highlighting types of sentences,and strategies for creating "million dollar sentences". Look for the 4 Kinds of Sentences Poster Rubric in your child's binder (Language Arts section) and sign to acknowledge that you are aware of the project. This is an in class project.

In science we are busily planning our landform models. Still looking for a few parent volunteers to assist with creating these Fri morning. Please email if you are available. Also, students signed up last week for items they could bring in to assist with the landform project.  Check your child's agenda to see what they signed up for. Each student signed up for one item and the list included:

5lb. bag of flour
26 oz. container of salt
tempera paints (green, brown, yellow)

Parents, You can help raise money for our DC trip by being a parent volunteer at the following activities

1. Operating the school store on Thurs. mornings. 
 
2. Help sell hotdogs during the Joyner Jamboree
